Becky successfully defended her thesis today! It is entitled “Behavioral defense against parasites: California killifish move, dart, and scratch more during trematode cercaria exposure and attack.” We’re currently turning it into an ms for publication. Congratulations Becky!
Alexandria & James win best poster at Scripps Undergraduate Research Symposium
At the annual Scripps Undergraduate Research Symposium, Alex & James win one of four best poster awards. They presented their research on bean clam demography, elevational distribution, and parasitism. Congratulations!
Becky, Adrienne, Ryan go to SCAS/SCSP
Some of the lab went to Cal State Northridge yesterday to attend the annual meeting of the Southern California Academy of Sciences and the Southern California Society of Parasitologists. Becky and Adrienne gave talks dealing with various aspects of host behavior and parasites, and Ryan chaired the Parasitology sessions. Good times.
Dan wins SCAS Student Research grant
Congratulations to Dan, for winning a research grant from the Southern California Academy of Sciences! This grant will really help him do some of his research dealing with eusocial trematodes.
Fall meeting of Southern California Society of Parasitologists
The lab took a day trip to the Fall SCSP meeting, hosted by Douglas Pace’s lab at Cal State University Long Beach.
